When ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Cristian Vega went to prison, he didn't appear on the show for several months. Why was he gone so long? Did he need to renew his contract or did he just need a vacation? Tara, New Jersey
Cristian's portrayer, David Fumero, left the show in October of 2003 to try pilot season in Los Angeles. With pal Kamar de los Reyes’ (Antonio) help, Fumero was enticed back to the show in the fall of 2004 for what was intended to be a short stint that resurrected the presumed dead character. Returning to L.A., the actor had completed a short and a feature film when OLTL's writers approached him with their desire to take Cristian in a whole new direction. Fumero's interest, coupled with a longing to live closer to real-life girlfriend Melissa Gallo (Adriana, OLTL), brought about his decision to return with a long-term contract.
What was the name of the song that played on ALL MY CHILDREN during the explosion at Erica's Mardi Gras gala? I can’t get the melody out of my head! Jenna, Ohio
That haunting song, which played during the show’s February 13 and 14 episodes, is titled "How High The Moon." Numerous artists have recorded the tune, but it was made famous by Ella Fitzgerald. Unfortunately, the version that played during the scene was recorded for AMC by a studio artist and is not available.
What ever happened to Juan, Emily's first boyfriend on GENERAL HOSPITAL? I think it's about time that the character came back! Kalleigh, Texas
Emily had become so obsessed with helping her former kidnapper, Zander Smith, get out of jail that a neglected Juan started flirting with other girls. Although Juan apologized, Emily dumped him in favor of Zander. Deciding to follow his dream of becoming a singer, Juan joined L&B Records' South American tour in 2001 and never returned. His portrayer, Michael Saucedo, is the real-life husband of Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth).
I was watching an old episode of WHO'S THE BOSS and thought I recognized the actress who now plays Kelly on ONE LIFE TO LIVE. I'm not sure because she was much younger at the time. Was it her? Katie George, Illinois
Good catch! In a March 1989 episode titled "Heather Can Wait," Tom guest starred as Heather Harper, the new neighbor who developed a crush on Jonathan.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't GENERAL HOSPITAL's Bobbie adopted her son, Lucas, from Cheryl Stansbury after a big custody battle with Cheryl's sister Tiffany? My friend says otherwise. VSB, California
You're right! When paternity tests indicated that Lucas was the baby that Cheryl had thought died, Bobbie was forced to hand him over. Upon Cheryl’s death the following year, Tiffany took custody of Lucas and was eagerly looking forward to raising him. Natch, because of the mandate in Cheryl’s will, the authorities insisted that the infant be returned to Bobbie and Tony. For a time, Cheryl had told Robert Scorpio that he was Lucas’ biological father, but as it turned out, that honor belonged to her ex-boyfriend, Julian Jerome!
I know that ALL MY CHILDREN's David acts like he's Babe's father, but if I am not mistaken, that's not really the case. Am I right? Andrea , New York
No, David really is Babe's dyed-in-the-wool daddy. In an attempt to keep David from revealing that the child Babe was revealing was actually Bianca’s daughter, Miranda, Krystal told the duplicitous doctor that they shared a daughter. When the DNA test that David insisted on came back positive, Krystal remembered the drunken tryst they’d shared years earlier.
I have only been watching GENERAL HOSPITAL for a little while. Sam seems to really hate Alexis. Is it true that the attorney caused Sam's miscarriage? Madison, Kentucky
At the time that pregnant Sam was nearly due to deliver her and Sonny's baby, little Kristina (Alexis' daughter with the mobster) was in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. Unable to find a match, a frightened Alexis tried to browbeat Sam into delivering Kristina's half-sister early in the hope that the newborn could be a donor. Simultaneously, Sam collapsed from a ruptured placenta and delivered a stillborn child whose umbilical cord provided the stem cells needed to save Kristina's life. Although there was a medical explanation for Sam’s miscarriage, Sam still blames Alexis for it.
I recall that Thorsten Kaye (Zach, ALL MY CHILDREN) once had a strong accent, but over the years it's become less detectable. Can you tell me what type of accent it is and where he’s originally from? Diane K., North Carolina
Kaye's accent is British; he's originally from London, England. However, his timber has toned down with every year that he's spent stateside. "People think I’m from America when I’m [in England] and they think I’m from England when I’m here," Kaye told Soaps In Depth.> "I’m no good with accents."
I think I heard ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Viki refer to Dorian as her sister. However, I have a vague recollection of a woman named Dorian being married to Victor Lord before he died (the first time) on the show. Is Dorian Viki's sister or stepmom? Tina , Arizona
We're not sure what you heard, but Dorian definitely married Viki's wealthy father, Victor Lord, back in 1975 and was therefore Viki's stepmother. However, the relationship between the two women has almost always been one of rivalry and contention stemming from Viki’s long-time belief that Dorian killed Victor and their battle over the Lord estate. In fact, it was one of Viki’s alters who killed Victor… or so everyone thought until he returned decades later.
